Race for semi-final spots in TFA U-18 heats up

FALMOUTH, Trelawny - Three teams recorded perfect win records as the Trelawny Football Association's Under-18 competition continued last weekend.

Rio Bueno, Holland United and Harmony FC have yet to drop any points as the race for semi-final places heats up.

Tywayne Evans and Shemar Walters both scored doubles for Rio Bueno in their 6-0 thrashing of Duncans FC as they rushed to nine points in Zone One, while the game between Prospect Links and Spicy Hill ended in a 1-1 draw.

Rio Bueno were up 5-0 at half-time with Evans scoring in the third minute and again in the16th minutes. Akeem Henry scored in the fifth minute, and Walters got his double in the 42nd and 45th minutes.

Oneil Webb scored their lone second-half goal in the 60th minute.

Holland United are also on nine points from three wins in Zone 3, after a 2-1 win over Coopers Pen.

Deano Thomas scored in the 21st to give Holland the lead, while Tevin Clarke made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute, before Kevin Edwards pulled one back for Coopers Pen in the 49th minute.

Falmouth United got their first win, blanking Daniel Town 3-0 in Zone 3.

Christopher Brown in the first half and Rashad Miller in the second half scored for Harmony FC, as they beat Granville FC 2-1 in Zone 4 and scored back-to-back wins as Friendship were 3-0 winners over Invaders.

Clark's Town are on top in Zone 2 after coming from behind to beat Jackson Town 2-1. Kirk Brown equalised on Amal Reid's second- minute goal for Jackson Town, while Christopher Walters scored the winner in the 50th minute.
